If there is one thing I have learned over the years it’s to place my orders early. Any store that sells ammunition these days will tell you that it has been difficult to promise certain types of ammunition before the start of the season. Be proactive and get your ammunition orders in early, this is one of the biggest things you can check off your list as a coach. Have you looked into the league offerings from Cabela’s or Reeds? The league worked hard this offseason to provide an avenue for all coaches to take advantage of quality ammunition at a great price. Remember to reference the leagues Policy and Procedure Manual for ammunition guidelines.
What about jerseys, vests, safety glasses, and hearing protection? These are just a few of the things coaches need to order and have ready by the start of the season. Reach out to your volunteers and offer up these responsibilities to someone who is organized and looking to help. Ordering supplies can be overwhelming especially when starting a new team so I recommend trying to work with local shops that may be interested in donating or sponsoring certain items for your team. You will be amazed at the level of community support your team will receive just by asking for it!
